Yamaha recently announced that its Indian motorcycle manufacturing subsidiary India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. had reached a total accumulated production volume of 10 million units!
Motorcycle demand in India is growing every year against a background of rising incomes and the increasing role of women in society. Current annual demand is around 22 million units, making India the world’s largest motorcycle market.
Yamaha Motor began motorcycle production in India in 1985, and now manufactures parts and assembles completed motorcycles in three locations, Surajpur, Faridabad, and Chennai.
