Ducati has inaugurated the “Anatomy of Speed” exhibition, the third temporary show organised and hosted by the Ducati Museum. – which will continue until 8 October 2019. The exhibition illustrates how aerodynamics plays a key role in achieving performance. Visitors are initially introduced to aerodynamics as Ducati sees it. The exhibition then examines the research programs and solutions developed over years of intense involvement in racing. Aerodynamic history is brought to life by photos, videos, display panels and projections that provide the backdrop to – and interact with – an exclusive exhibition of two fairings used by Ducati in the 2016 and 2017 MotoGP championships and of the Ducati Desmosedici GP16. Indian Motorcycle has announced a collaboration with five renowned artists on a limited-edition line of tank covers for Indian’s all-new FTR 1200. Only 100 tank covers for each design will be produced, with the five unique designs to be unveiled on June 13 at Wheels & Waves in Biarritz, France. Indian Motorcycle curated a lineup of artists with extremely distinct styles from street graffiti to modern abstract, in order to appeal to a wider range of consumer preferences. The artistic tank covers will allow FTR 1200 owners to instantly transform their bike into a piece of mobile fine art, while also increasing their personal connection to the FTR 1200. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Taddy Blazusiak and Jonny Walker finished in sixth and eighth places respectively at the 2019 Erzbergrodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble in Austria. KTM supported Manuel Lettenbichler finished as runner-up following a two-and-a-half-hour battle for victory. The 25th Erzbergrodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble once again lived up to its fearsome reputation as being the world’s toughest one-day hard endure, with huge puddles and extremely slippery conditions in the forest sections adding to the level of difficulty faced by the 500 qualified riders. Exotic Italian bike manufacturer MV Agusta has announced that it will soon start production of the Superveloce 800 concept bike presented at last November’s EICMA Show in Milan, following a wave of enquiries from potential customers. The Superveloce 800 Serie Oro will be exactly the same as the concept, utilising a steel trellis chassis, a 148 HP inline-3 cylinder 799 cc engine with a counter-rotating crankshaft coupled to a 6-speed gearbox and the iconic triple-exit exhaust system. It will also include a number of advanced technologies, including a TFT dashboard as well as state of the art engine and vehicle control electronics incorporating Ride-by-Wire, multi-maps and traction control. The launch of the bike will be accompanied by an exclusive merchandising line that will include backpacks, jackets and helmets and many other quality items. Mad Ducati rider Henry Crew, the young 23 year-old man who set off a year ago to ride solo all around the world with his Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled, has finally returned to the UK, establishing a new world record as the youngest motorcyclist to complete a round-the-world tour by motorcycle. Henry, who left on 3 April 2018 from the Bike Shed Motorcycle Club in Shoreditch, London, had planned to ride 35,000 miles in a year. On his return, on 19 April 2019, the mileage on the Desert Sled which he rode for the whole journey displayed a good 55,000 miles (over 88,000 km). “The Scrambler Desert Sled was an extremely versatile travelling companion, capable of dealing with any kind of terrain or climate. Exactly 90 years ago the first edition of what would become one of the most prestigious and traditional events in the world for historic vehicles MV Agusta’s stunning Superveloce 800 has won the coveted ‘Concept Bike Class’.
