Scott Redding backed up his debut Bennetts British Superbike Championship race win by completing a hat trick of victories at Donington Park, edging out Xavi Forés and Tommy Bridewell to end the triple-header weekend on the top step of the podium. In the second race of the weekend Redding narrowly claimed a second Bennetts BSB victory as the Be Wiser Ducati rider made a decisive move on Forés at Roberts to take the lead before the race was red flagged for rain. At the start of race two, Forés led Christian Iddon and Bridewell, but again an aggressive Bridewell dived into second before moving into the lead with a pass into Redgate on the second lap. A Ducati Hypermotard 950 concept has won first place in the ”Concept Bikes: New Design and Prototypes by Manufacturers and Independents’ category at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este held at Cernobbio on Lake Como. The concept bike, created by the Centro Stile Ducati, highlights the double personality of the bike, which combines racing character with an urban warrior. The bike also featured technical details inspired by the MotoGP and a high impact graphic design inspired by urban graffiti. “I’m delighted with the success received by the concept bike we presented for the competition, which follows the award recently obtained at the Red Dot Awards for the Diavel 1260,” commented Andrea Ferraresi, director of the Centro Stile Ducati. “Style concepts are useful also for presenting new elements, in this case the graphic design in particular, and for evaluating the reactions they inspire. Vendetta Racing, the UAE’s largest privately-owned motorcycle racing team, has confirmed it will send six riders to contest the 2020 Dakar Rally, which will take place in Saudi Arabia for the very first time. Alan Boyter, Vendetta Racing’s founder and manager said the opportunity of seeing riders compete under the Vendetta banner at the world’s most famous and demanding rally raid was too good to pass up. “The Dakar Rally is one of the biggest challenges, not only in motor sport but in world sport,” said Boyter, a former runner-up in the UAE Sportsbike Championship and veteran of four Abu Dhabi Desert Challenges. “Until now racing the Dakar has been out of our reach, but with the news that the rally is leaving South America after eleven years for a new era in Saudi Arabia, we realised we couldn’t let this chance pass us by.” The rally, which was inaugurated…

Round 2 of the 2019 AMA Pro Motocross Championship, which took place at California’s Fox Raceway on Saturday, threw up a strong result for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team, with Marvin Musquin putting on a great show for the crowd as he raced his way to a podium finish with 3-2 moto scores on the day. His teammate, Cooper Webb, finished just outside the top five with a consistent performance in sixth overall. Musquin put himself into fourth off the start of 450MX Moto 1, powering his way up to second by lap three. He put on a charge late in the race to bring himself up to the rear wheel of the leader, where he soon found himself in a three-way battle for the top spot. The MCN Festival of Motorcycling, held at Peterborough Arena, East of England Showground, played host to the Indian Motorcycle Flat Track Nationals last weekend with the flat track arena providing high octane entertainment right at the heart of the festival. Sundays Hooligan action saw some heart-stopping moments as Indian Motorcycle’s Krazy Horse teammates Leah Tokelove and Lee Kirkpatrick battled bar to bar on their modified Scouts for position in the heat races. The Hooligan final saw a dominant performance from Gary Birtwistle leading from beginning to end although he was under constant pressure from Max Hunt. A red flag caused a restart and left Indian Scout rider Leah Tokelove having to fight her way back from fourth behind Grant Martin to take a well deserved third place, continuing her consistent podium streak. Former Grand Prix winner and world champion Dani Pedrosa will be able to lend his vast experience and skills to the Red Bull KTM MotoGP effort from next month after some test laps at Mugello this week confirmed his collarbone injury has healed sufficiently. The 33 year old took his first laps on the development KTM RC16 at Mugello, Italy in mid-May as part of a private test. The Spaniard, who spent thirteen years in MotoGP and who retired from full-time racing at the end of 2018, has successfully recovered from a stress fracture of the right collarbone and was able to complete several circulations of the fast and demanding track that will host the Gran Premio D’Italia on June 2nd. “It was very positive and also quite exciting to see Dani riding at Mugello and able to make those laps,” said Mike Leitner, Red Bull KTM Team Manager. “It…

Indian Motorcycle has announced that Grand Prix legend and perennial crowd favourite Randy Mamola will be campaigning the Workhorse Speedshop modified Scout Bobber in the full Sultans of Sprint series Named ‘Appaloosa’ and build by Brice Hennebert of Workhorse Speedshop to honour the Indian Scout’s 100th anniversary, the bike is named after the famous breed of horse. “I wanted a name that could link Workhorse, Indian Motorcycle and speed,” explained Brice. “As soon as I discovered that the American horse breed Appaloosa was one of the world’s fastest horses, I knew I had the name for an American sprint bike built by Workhorse. For one weekend, Italian MotoGP star Andrea Dovizioso will switch from his Ducati Desmosedici GP into the cockpit of an almost 610-hp Class 1 Audi RS 5 DTM. The MotoGP 2017 and 2018 runner-up will contest the two DTM races at Misano, in Italy on June 8 and 9. “I’m delighted that in Andrea Dovizioso we managed to get a real superstar to race as a guest in the DTM,” says Head of Audi Motorsport Dieter Gass. “MotoGP riders are true heroes in Italy. Bike Middle East tests the MV Agusta F3 and F4 back to back on track One of the perks of writing about bikes is that we occasionally get invited to some stellar events. One such event was the MV Agusta UAE track day at Dubai Autodrome, where the famous Italian brand showed off their latest range of bikes. The bikes on offer including the Turismo Veloce, Brutale 800, F3 675 and the flagship F4 1000. But being at the track we decided the best use of the day would be to take the F3 and F4 and test them head to head. To be fair to the bikes we took them as delivered for one session each and then made some “track ready” suspension tweaks to see how much we could get from each bike.
